Bylaws Revision
Important goals of the Communion Partners in recent years have been to foster deeper fellowship and mutual encouragement among clergy and lay leaders, to share helpful resources, and to build mission partnerships, as we work together for the renewal of our churches.
Developing a more robust structure for the governance of our ministry, with leadership shared between bishops, clergy, and laity, as well as the guidelines for the formation and work of regional chapters has been an important undertaking for us. These changes help us to pursue our vision.
Under the direction of Communion Partners’ board of directors and in consultation with the Steering Committee and legal professionals, a group of volunteers has prepared draft Bylaws, which will hopefully be adopted by our current board of directors in the next few months. At our upcoming retreat at Camp Allen (January 13-15, 2026), we plan to review and answer questions about these changes. We will also plan to hold our first Annual Meeting under the new governance structure and will elect the first officers to lead our work under the new structures.
The current (September 2025) drafts of the Proposed Bylaws, and a commentary on them are at the top of this page. These documents may change in minor ways before the retreat in January. Reviewing them carefully in advance will be helpful for all who participate in the retreat.
